Rafael Rivera creates high resolution aerial pictures by shooting hundreds of photos, and then piecing them together like an intricate puzzle. In this way, his pictures offer a new perspective with the magnificent virtual viewpoint of extreme distance, and at the same time capture the grandeur and extreme detail of his subjects. Instead of limiting his pictures to a bird's eye view, he uses the helicopter as an extension to his tripod to find the best possible compositions. His wide angle aerial panoramas reveal a world of rich detail, showing everything as far as the eye can see.
Rafael is currently working on an aerial photography book [The Big Picture: San Diego] with En Ville Publishing. For more information, visit
